The script is located at <Image>/On test/Disintegrate

It works on gimp 2.8.22 (at least until I exceeded 94 layers with 20000 stikes when it crashed)

The script runs on a RGB image with two layers (the top layer must have an alpha channel), see example .xcf in zip file.
It is trial and error, on the example .xcf I suggest setting "From edges into centre" adding 60 layers and setting random strikes to 5000, then scaling the result up to 720 x 720 before running in gimp animation playback, this takes 10 minutes and gives an idea of what to expect

You can watch the disintegration as the script runs

Re: the "Number of random outbreaks", this only works on "Disintegrate From everywhere", the greater the number the more points the object is erased from

Re: the "When script ends copy...". When adding more than 90 layers my gimp 2.8.22 crashed, so I run 60 layers, then the script copies the 60th layer and creates a new 2 layer image to allow a restart. Doing it this way allows saving numerous blocks of 60 layers, after which I use File > Open as layers to load all the 60 layer blocks in one image for further processing,

Result is best viewed in the gimp animation player rather than as a .gif
